    PocketGuard makes personal finance fun and easy. It categorizes and organizes your expenses, monthly bills and subscriptions into clear, beautiful tabs and graphs, so you will always be on top of your finances.

    PocketGuard automatically pulls information from your bank accounts and credit cards to give you a single view of your spending.

  • Is it free?

    Yes! Anyone can sign up for a free PocketGuard account. It takes less than a minute.

  • Why do I need PocketGuard?

    We believe that everyone must have comfortable and easy access tools for managing funds.

    PocketGuard will be useful for users who are tired of dissembling their spending on bank statements; keep records on slips of paper or in their head, not to forget the date of upcoming bills payments.

    With its simple and intuitive interface, PocketGuard becomes a financial assistant to anyone who wants to manage their funds on the fly, easily analyze spending and plan own budget for the future.

    Among other things, PocketGuard is absolutely free and its use is a pleasure.

  • How does PocketGuard receive financial information about my accounts?

    We’ve partnered with Intuit to link to bank accounts that support apps like PocketGuard. It’s the same platform that powers Mint, and is already trusted by millions of people. Intuit ensures that your transaction data and account information remain safe and secure while allowing the app to detect trends in cash flow and understand spending needs.

  • How do I create a PocketGuard account?

    To create a PocketGuard account, you need to enter your email address correctly and select a secure password. After creating your account, you will get a link in your email to validate your account.

  • How do I reset my password?

    If you can’t remember your password, you may easily request for a reset from the main sign in page.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Go to PocketGuard’s sign in page.
    • Click on the password input field and tap on the question mark to the right of the password field.
    • Enter the email used to register for PocketGuard and tap on "Reset Password" button.
    • Go to your email inbox and follow the emailed instructions to reset your PocketGuard password (Note: This link will be valid only for 24 hours for security reasons).
  • How do I change my screen name, email or passcode?

    Edit your account information from the Settings menu.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, tap on icon that appears on the top left corner of Accounts screen ("").
    • From the drop down that appears, tap on "Settings".
    • Select the type of information you’d like to change and enter the new details.

  • How do I add an account to PocketGuard?

    To add an account to PocketGuard, tap on the plus icon that appears on the top right corner of Accounts screen ("+")

    Complete the following steps:

    • In the search bar, enter your card issuer’s name.
    • From the search results, tap on your card.
    • Login with your online banking information, letting PocketGuard establish a secure connection with your card issuer.
    • Your card will be added to your account once the process is complete.

    Note: If your bank account uses multi-factor authorization, your bank may require you to re-authorize your account by re-entering your username/password and/or answer one or more of your security questions before your data can be refreshed in PocketGuard. Your bank only makes these questions available for limited amount of time. This varies by bank, but generally these questions are viable for 5 to 15 minutes. We show you as many challenge questions as your bank presents and once your bank has finished presenting challenge questions, we will pull new transactions for you.

  • What should I do if I can’t find my bank?

    Below are some tips that may help:

    • Instead of searching for the generic term "Visa", search for the issuer listed on the back of the card (e.g. "Chase", "Wells Fargo", "Bank of America").
    • If none of the tips above help, we simply may not support your bank. In this case, you can submit details to us via our Contact form and we’ll submit a request to our data connectivity team requesting that they add support for your bank.

    Please note that due to factors outside our control, including approval from the banks themselves, we cannot guarantee that your bank will be supported, but we will do our best. You can check back periodically to see if support for your bank has been added.

  • What is the "In My Pocket" feature?

    "In My Pocket" it’s a feature that takes care of making your budget, so you don’t have to. The feature is displayed on the All Accounts screen under the tab "Accounts".

  • How does the "In My Pocket" feature calculate my budget?

    It factors in your monthly bills, regular payments, and projects your income and uses this data to determine exactly how much you can safely spend today without going into debt.

    To see exactly what numbers it uses, tap in the "In My Pocket" area. This will show you your projected income, upcoming bills for this month and total amount spent so far.

    If you want you can change your projected income just tap on income amount and enter a new value.

  • What does a negative number "In My Pocket" mean?

    This means that you have already spent more than you will earn this month. Of course it’s not the end of the world, but it is a good signal for you to slow down to avoid future debt.

  • How can I change an account name in PocketGuard?

    You can edit an account name from the back side of your card screen.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Accounts screen and swipe left until you land on the card you’d like to edit.
    • Tap on the account balance area. This will flip the card over.
    • Tap on the edit account icon then choose "Change Card Title".
  • How do I set / delete the due date of the card?

    You can edit or delete a due date from the front side of your card screen.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Accounts screen and swipe left until you land on the card you’d like to edit.
    • Tap on the due date and select the new date.
  • How can I update my account?

    You may update information from the front side of your card.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Accounts screen and swipe left until you land on the card you’d like to update.
    • Tap on the update icon at the bottom of the card.

    Balance information and transactions will update automatically.

  • TRANSACTIONS & ANALYTICS
  • How can I view all transactions by certain account?

    By default, the Transaction screen displays transactions for all added accounts. But you may view transactions for a specific account.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Transaction screen.
    • Tap on the card name (or All Accounts) that appears on the top of Transactions’ screen.
    • Swipe left until you land on the card which you want to view transactions.
    • Click done icon and browse through transactions.
  • How can I view the details of the transaction?

    To view detailed information about the transaction you should go to "Transactions" and tap any transaction you want to view.

    On the next screen you’ll see following details:

    • date of the transaction;
    • amount and currency;
    • comment;
    • account name;
    • how it appears on the card statement;
    • merchant;
    • pocket;
    • related charges by this merchant.
  • What does "pocket" mean?

    It is our funny name for the transaction categories, example: Shopping, Travel, Auto & Transport etc.

  • How can I add comment to the transaction?

    You may add your comment to any of your transactions (except pending transactions).

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Transactions screen.
    • Tap any transaction you want to add comment.
    • On the next screen you’ll see detailed information about selected transaction.
    • Click on the ADD COMMENT and enter comment no longer than 60 characters. Note: you can add any #hashtags you want.
    • Click on the Save button to save your comment.
  • How can I edit or delete my comment to the transaction?

    You may edit or delete your comment to any of your transactions.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Transactions screen.
    • Tap any transaction you want to edit/delete comment.
    • On the next screen you’ll see detailed information about selected transaction.
    • Swipe left your comment and press appropriate button to edit or delete your comment.
    • Confirm your decision.
  • What is pending transaction?

    A pending transaction is when a bank flags a transaction as not yet being confirmed, or posted. Pending transactions are indicated by this icon "".

    Some of the attributes of the transaction (merchant, date, amount etc.) may change in the coming days. For example, the date of a transaction may change if it occurred over the weekend, or a "friendly" name is used for the merchant.

    After a few days (generally between 1 to 4), the transaction is confirmed, and it is marked as posted (without the icon "").

  • How can I search transactions?

    You may search any of your transactions by name, pocket, merchant, comment or hashtag.

    To do this, complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Transactions screen.
    • Pull-down your transaction list and you’ll see a search box in the top of the Transactions screen.
    • Enter the search phrase you are looking for and then see all related transactions.
  • How can I search for all transactions with a particular tag?

    To view by tag, simply click the tag you’d like to see in the transaction details or in the transaction list.

  • What should I do if I find an unknown transaction?

    Once you find unknown transaction, be sure to check it carefully. You may use the "Google It" button, which helps you find out more information about the merchant.

    If you believe this transaction is a mistake, you should contact your bank and dispute it.

  • How can I view all my transactions by pockets?

    You may view all your transactions by pockets on the Analytics screen.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Analytics screen.
    • You’ll see a pie chart of your spending. Tap on the round button that appears on the top right corner of screen to view all pockets.
    • Select the pocket by which you want to view the transaction.
  • How can I view all the transactions performed by a certain merchant?

    You may view all your transactions performed by a certain merchant from the transaction details’ screen.

    Complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, go to the Transactions screen.
    • Tap any transaction you want to view.
    • On the next screen you’ll see detailed information about selected transaction.
    • Click on the value of the RELATED CHARGES and you will see all of your transactions by certain merchant.

  • How do I rate the PocketGuard app?

    We appreciate your attention and thank you for your rating. In order to rate our app, please complete the following steps:

    • Once logged into the app, tap on icon that appears on the top left corner of home screen ("").
    • Tap the "Feedback" button to enter the feedback menu, then tap on "Rate Us" and show us your love.
  • How can I delete my PocketGuard account?

    In your iPhone app, go to Profile > Personal info, click "Leave PocketGuard" and follow the instructions.

    In your Android app, go to Profile section from the side menu, click "Leave PocketGuard" and follow the instructions.

  • Can I use PocketGuard without an online bank account?

    Unfortunately, PocketGuard can only protect your accounts which are enrolled in online banking. To enroll in online banking, please contact your bank directly.

  • Can I use PocketGuard if I live outside the U.S. or Canada?

    Unfortunately not. Currently, we support only U.S. and Canadian card issuers.

  • My problem isn’t reported here. How can I contact you?

    Our feedback email is hello@pocketguard.com. Make sure your email includes details such as: the app you are referring to, your phone type/OS and specific steps so we can recreate the problem. The more information you give us, the more likely we can help you solve the problem!

  • Why does PocketGuard need my bank login information?

    We need your bank details to establish a secure connection with your bank or service provider. This enables PocketGuard to download and categorize your transactional information securely and automatically, thereby keeping you on track in real-time.

  • How do you protect and store my bank login information?

    Your personal information is entered through Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which creates an encrypted connection between your browser and our servers. This information is kept encrypted at all times. Your bank login information is stored securely using multi-layered hardware and software encryption.

  • Is there any risk of someone stealing my identity by using PocketGuard?

    No, as PocketGuard doesn’t require you to provide any personally identifiable information to create an account, but only your email. We’ll never ask you for information that would be required for a hacker to steal your identity, such as your full name, account or card numbers, or your physical address.

  • Can PocketGuard employees view some of my details?

    Your bank account and credit card numbers are stored securely. Your information may be seen by technical staff of PocketGuard in accordance with specified procedures and safeguards for staff access in order to operate, develop and improve best service to you.

  • How can I protect my PocketGuard account?

    • Never do not write down or share your PocketGuard password with anyone, even with your friends.
    • Make sure that your password is strong and secure, including both numbers and capital letters.
    • Be certain that you have virus protection and a firewall on any device you use to access PocketGuard.
    • Don’t install any programs from people or companies you don’t know.
  • If someone steals my PocketGuard login information, can they access my accounts to make any transactions?

    No, because PocketGuard uses a "read-only" access to view of your transaction information. Your online banking usernames and passwords are never displayed after you enter them to add new account.
