PocketGuard security

As our company deals with money, we believe that security finance protection is the cornerstone of any financial app and ensure that our solution meets high industry standards of interacting with financial and private data. We would protect your financial information in any case. Have you lost your device? No worries - we still can defend your data.

More and more people trust their “financial health” to PocketGuard. The number of satisfied clients means that this is a trusted budgeting app with millions of transactions.

PocketGuard pulls in transactions from the trusted data aggregation providers, Finicity (MasterCard company) and Plaid.

Our financial application uses PIN codes and biometrics as an additional security layer. It means that even if your gadget is lost/stolen, we will still have access to it, being able to defend your information.

Finances are all about security, and vice versa. Our team applies the time-tested data protection measures to guarantee safety for each client. For instance, we are using 256-bit SSL encryption.

Security measures

We safeguard PocketGuard with your own 4-digit code so that only you can view your account. That means you can keep the app active without logging out. You can also enable Touch ID if you want. The best thing is that your data is safeguarded even in force majeure situations (when you cannot access your device for any reason). Our tool allows erasing your info distantly.

Security finance app

To display your account details, PocketGuard needs to view the transactions on your financial statements. We use Finicity to encrypt your login credentials. That is a well-known MasterCard company. With its help, our data aggregation partner establishes a secure connection with your card issuer. Some financial institutions even send a multi-factor authentication (MFA), such as a password or code, so that they can verify a real person. All of that makes any bank connection protected and secured.

For improved safety, we purposefully do not store any of your credit/debit card account credentials.

Once your credentials are confirmed, do not expect us to fully control your data. In fact, PocketGuard is granted "read-only" access to your transaction history. It means that PocketGuard can only see descriptions and amounts of your purchases. We cannot move money to or out of your accounts, nor can we change any aspect of your accounts.

Double layer of protection

Use PocketGuard personal finance security measures to guard your money. They include a powerful PIN code and password combination. In other words, no third party will ever access your private info, no matter where your phone is.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use PocketGuard without linking an account?

Sure! Feel free to start using our smart financial solution by creating your cash account manually. We won’t ask for bank credentials at that stage. You can connect bank accounts anytime later and open more automated features such as anti-fraud detection, financial data in real-time, and more

What is "read-only" access?

By connecting to PocketGuard, you're granting us permission to view your card activity through what we call "read-only" access. In other words, you're allowing us to "look" but not "touch." We cannot change your personal information in any way, and we certainly can't move money around.

It's as if we were looking at your card statement through a plexiglass box. We can see it, and that's it. If you have any concerns or questions about PocketGuard's security, please contact us at [email protected]

How can I close my PocketGuard Account?

To close your PocketGuard Account, you should do the following:
